Welcome to my friends from the Ultimate Blog Party 2010!!

      Hi Ya'll I'm Mary!

I am so excited to be a part of Ultimate Blog Party 2010.  My blog is a place for me to share the joys and frustrations of being a young lady living in the country with my cute husband.

I wasn't always so excited about living in the country.  In fact, not too long ago, I thought about buying a house in the city and leaving the stresses of endless grass cutting and bug busting and rodent deterring behind forever.  As I was looking in town for houses, I realized just how much I really do like living in the country.  There is a peacefulness and serenity that comes from havng a rippling stream in your backyard.  At that point I went from reluctant wannabe city dweller to experimental country girl. I have only begun to embrace the country lifestyle and I will blog all of my trials and tribulations for my readers to share in.  I am a pretty funny person and always try to inject humor into my day to day life.  Laughter really is great for the soul!

I hope that you enjoy reading my experiences as I try to tackle this life away from the big city!  To (mis)Quote the wise and witty author Dr. Seuss,
"Oh the places we will go!"

♥ Mary

That serenity is something we're hoping to find soon, buying our first home. We live in the city and cannot stand it anymore :) How wonderful that you have your bit of country already :) Hold onto it!

I grew up in the country and moved to the city. Now I want to go back, bring on the bugs! Party on!

Hey there! I'm hopping here from the UBP page! I grew up "in the country" just a few miles east of Richmond, VA. My high school was between a corn field and a cow pasture (which the school bought & used as a football practice field). I saw your salsa recipe - yummy! The kids and I planted an herb garden yesterday (well the start, I need to find some dill & some mint). We planted cilantro with the thoughts of making yummy salsa! Embrace the life (but I could do without the bugs!) HUGS!

Hello! I'm dropping by from the Blog Party... :-) I'm currently a military spouse and was born and raised as a city girl, but am looking forward to Dh's retirement from the military so we can move to the country too!

Will be adding you to join in on your trials, tribulations, AND successes!

Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Visiting from the UBP! We have lived both in the city and in the country - country definitely wins! There are some practical challenges, but the pro's definitely outweigh the cons. :) Stick in there!
